« Je suis autodidacte ; je m’entoure de personnes plus intelligentes que moi, qui m’instruisent. Chaque rencontre est importante, c’est l’opportunité d’apprendre et d’avancer en toute simplicité sans avoir à prouver quoi que ce soit à qui que ce soit.
Lorsque j’ai perdu la vue, j’avais un super job dans la publicité de parfums, avec un bureau à New York, à Paris et à Los Angeles. Atteint de cytomégalovirus, j’ai compris que j’étais là pour partager et inspirer. Ma maison était alors en travaux et je l’ai redécouverte à travers tous mes autres sens. Par exemple, je devenais très sensible aux sons et aux matériaux comme le bambou, mais aussi aux odeurs. De la même façon, je me sentais claustrophobe dans certaines pièces, dont j’ai décidé de retravailler les ouvertures. Pour ce qui est des couleurs, j’ai utilisé les techniques de la médecine chinoise : par exemple, prenez une couleur en main, tendez le bras puis si l’on vous pousse et que vous résistez avec force c’est que la couleur vous correspond, telles deux énergies qui se complètent. J’ai fait un autre test avec un couple de musiciens, elle au piano, lui à la guitare : pendant qu’ils jouaient de concert j’ai projeté différentes couleurs ; lorsqu’ils étaient parfaitement synchro, c’est que la couleur les aidait.
A Los Angeles, j’ai acheté une maison qui était un peu comme moi, avec une grande faille due à un tremblement de terre, je m’y retrouvais en miroir ; en la redécorant, j’avais vraiment l’impression de me reconstruire moi-même et de retrouver santé et équilibre. Notre environnement, s’il est en parfaite harmonie avec nos sens, peut vraiment nous soigner. »

Le salon est le lieu où vous vous révélez aux autres ; les objets de décoration doivent y être très personnels, émotionnels, comme des souvenirs de voyages ou de vos racines : un livre sur l’une de vos passions, un tableau qui résonne profondément en vous…
La salle de bain sert à vous mettre en valeur car vous y êtes face à vous-même : y placer des odeurs qui font du bien, comme une bougie qui fait voyager, une lumière douce avec laquelle vous ne penserez pas « je vieillis », des serviettes moelleuses comme dans un spa.
La chambre est votre espace personnel, il faut éviter d’y installer votre bureau. On peut s’y permettre des couleurs beaucoup plus intimes et relaxantes : sombres ou plus calfeutrées. Les draps sont essentiels ; lorsque j’en achète, j’ouvre toujours le paquet pour les sentir contre ma joue ou mon bras.
